What is All-on-4® ?
The term “All-on-4®” literally means “all on four”: four implants supporting a complete arch of teeth. This technique was developed in the 1990s by Swedish professor Branemark and has since been refined by, among others, Paulo Malo in collaboration with Nobel Biocare.
In the All-on-4® method, four implants are strategically placed in the jaw : the two front ones vertically and the two back ones at an angle (30-45°), along the sinuses or nerve canals. How Does the Treatment Work ?
First Consultation and Examination : During your initial appointment, the implantologist examines your oral situation. Using a 3D scan (CBCT) or digital planning, we map out the bone quality and anatomy.
Planning and Preparation : Based on the scan, we create a personalized treatment plan.
Implant Placement : Under local anesthesia, we place the four implants. Often, we attach a temporary fixed bridge the same day, so you’re never without teeth.
Healing Phase (Osseointegration) : The implants integrate with the jawbone over 3-6 months – this is called osseointegration. During this time, you wear the temporary denture while the bone forms solidly around the implants.
Permanent Fixed Bridge : After successful integration, we place the high-quality permanent denture. It feels strong, aesthetic, and natural – just like real teeth.
